The Problem

The modern leader is at high risk of severe workplace exhaustion.

The business landscape has shifted faster than most leaders built their careers to handle. AI-driven pressure, exponential complexity, and relentless uncertainty have created a mental load that exceeds what any high-functioning leader can sustain on discipline and experience alone.

Leaders are running out of capacity, and when they do, everything suffers, including their decisions, their teams, and their own health.

The prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain responsible for strategic judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, is the first thing to degrade when cognitive load exceeds capacity. Most leaders do not know this is happening. They only feel the gap.

The result is a leader running the same playbook in an environment that has fundamentally changed.

The Solution

I built this engagement after eighteen years inside Deloitte and a hospitalization that showed me exactly how much is at stake when a leader stops protecting their own capacity. My approach is brain-based coaching, and the results are lasting. Every session is a private, direct collaboration, just the two of us, built around the pressure you are under and what needs to change.

I know the effects of overload because I have lived through them.

Before founding Cognitive Coaching Solutions, I spent many years in leadership at Deloitte, leading high-performing teams and delivering across high-value, complex projects. My role was constantly changing, requiring me to adapt to new areas of the business, new leadership, and new teams. I was passionate and deeply embedded in my work, fully committed to the success of my teams while supporting high-profile, high-stakes clients.

From the outside, it looked like success. Behind the scenes, I was working excessive hours, taking on significant levels of stress, and failing to take care of myself. I kept pushing through a high burn rate, ignoring every warning sign, until my body collapsed and landed me in a hospital bed. My body made that decision for me, because I was unable to ask for help or admit I was feeling overwhelmed.

That collapse sent me into a rigorous exploration of applied neuroscience and behavioral psychology. Going through brain-based coaching completely transformed the way I work and live. It rebuilt my trust in my own judgment and made me a stronger, more capable version of myself.

"That is what this work gave me. That is what I am here to give you."

Supporting others and protecting them from reaching that same point gives me a deep sense of fulfillment. It is my personal mission to disrupt the destructive path of relentless pressure and save driven leaders from reaching exhaustion.

This is why I do this work. When you stop operating from a depleted system and start leading from a regulated one, your decisions get sharper, your team feels it, and the pressure that used to consume everything becomes something you can actually work through. That is what I am here to help you build.

What clients say

"Getting through a major restructuring since then has been a very different experience."

"I have worked with good mentors over the years, but Sara brought a level of practical insight I had not encountered before. I was questioning my own judgment more than I ever had, and the daily demands of supporting my team through significant change had become genuinely exhausting.

Our work together gave me a clear way to protect my time, handle difficult conversations with more confidence, and lead with greater steadiness. Getting through a major restructuring since then has been a very different experience. I look forward to continuing the momentum we have started."

— C.K.

"Those changes have been immediate and lasting."

"I had worked with other coaches before and kept covering the same ground without real progress. Sara was different from the start.

I came to her managing a complex new project with a stretched team and a demanding timeline. Through our sessions I learned how to protect my calendar, set clear expectations early, and stay composed when it mattered most. Those changes have been immediate and lasting."

— N.M.

"Shortly after working together I landed a new role, and earned a promotion a year later."

"I came to Sara during one of the most uncertain periods of my career. The stress had reached a point where I was doubting myself in ways that were new to me.

Her process helped me identify what was draining my energy, get my focus back, and start making confident decisions again. Shortly after working together I landed a new role, and earned a promotion a year later."

Frequently Asked Questions

How is cognitive coaching different from other leadership coaching?

Most leadership coaching operates at the conscious level: goal setting, accountability check-ins, frameworks you apply on your own. That approach has its place, yet many leaders have tried it and walked away feeling like something was missing.

Cognitive coaching goes deeper. Through cognitive coaching, we identify the automatic habits underneath your current performance that were formed long before this pressure arrived, interrupt the ones that are no longer benefiting you, and replace them with deliberate responses built for the complexity you are navigating now. Most leaders who come to this work have already tried other approaches and are here because those approaches did not produce the change they were looking for.

How does a four-session engagement produce lasting change?

The engagement is intensive because real change requires concentrated focus. Each 90-minute session does specific work: identifying where the pressure is concentrated, mapping how you currently process it, building new deliberate responses through mental rehearsal, and locking in a new default. That precision is what makes results come faster than most leaders expect.

The leaders who get the most from this work are the ones who treat it as a foundation and build on it over time.

How is this delivered, and what does the investment include?

Every session is conducted via video. No travel required. Leaders I work with are managing demanding schedules and the work does not require physical presence to be effective. It requires focused, uninterrupted time, which we build into every session.

The investment includes four 90-minute sessions, direct access to me throughout the engagement, and a process built specifically around your role, your pressure points, and the outcomes you need to produce. Every session is yours entirely.

I am interested but my schedule is unpredictable right now. When is the right time to start?

The leaders who reach out are almost never in a slower period. They are in the middle of a demanding quarter, a significant organizational shift, or feeling more pressure than they have in years. That is usually what brought them here.

The engagement is four sessions scheduled around your calendar. If you are feeling the friction now, that is not a reason to wait. Every high-pressure quarter your system is not optimized is capacity your organization absorbs.

The consultation is thirty minutes. A direct conversation to determine whether this is the right fit for where you are right now.
